3 Things I’ve learned as a New Blogger

Things I've learned as a New Blogger

Ultimate Blog Challenge Day 7

I started my blog in April of this year, so I’m pretty new in the blogging world. I don’t think much has changed since I have been blogging so I thought I would share what I have learned so far as a new blogger.

Bloggers have such a supportive community.

I try to take advantage of the many facebook groups that help bloggers especially new ones.  If you have a question or need advice on anything there is usually someone there to help.

As a mom blogger, I have been able to connect with so many other mom bloggers who have given me so much support. It’s always good to connect with others who are on this journey with you. You don’t have to do this all on your own.

It takes a lot of Hard work.

There is plenty of effort that is put forth in creating and maintaining a blog. I never realized how much work really goes into it but it’s worth it. I enjoy creating content for my readers and learning about this new world of blogging.

It can definitely be intimidating at first when setting up a blog making sure you have your domain and hosting. Then you have to set up a theme and make sure it looks nice.

In creating your content, there is so much to it. From writing it and doing the research, to taking pictures or looking for stock photos that go with the post.

Another thing I do for some of my blog post is making pinnable images that are suited for Pinterest. This can take some time because I try to make 2 to 3 pins for each blog post. So yeah, hard work!

3 Things I've Learned as a New Blogger

Make sure to take a break.

When I started out blogging that was all I could think about. I was learning so much and it was taking up a lot of my family time. As I gathered all this information and worked on my blog, I realized that I was starting to burn out. It was too much.

So now I try to set a schedule with my blog working on it when I need to. Also, I only get the information that I need for the moment instead of trying to learn everything at once. This way I don’t get so overwhelmed.

Like I mentioned in my last post I try my best to take my breaks during the weekends.

So this is just a hint of what I have learned so far a new blogger. I am always looking for ways to improve myself through my blogging journey. I hope you are able to relate to what I’ve shared. What have you learned from blogging?

  1. This is so so accurate. The burn out is real! I remember when I first started I was completely overwhelmed and I still am some times. I’m still trying to work on balancing everything.

  2. This is a very true list! I have only been blogging for a month and a half now and the community is amazing! But it is hard work and I am really enjoying it. I have learned to really time out my day to avoid being burnt out. I have been burnt out with other things in the past so trying to just take it steady this time around.

  3. You are doing great. You have obviously learned a lot. You have subtitles and your font is not so itty bitty that it can’t be read. It is a great size! You have a beautiful pin, and you have share buttons that are visible. I love the advice about burnout. I have to watch that, too.

  4. This is so real! Everything you said is exactly what new bloggers are going through. Setting a schedule, avoiding the burnout and striving to improve every day is a great way to start. Keep at and don’t give up! You’re doing great.

  5. I can totally relate to getting overwhelmed and burnt out. I started my blog in March and I was trying to get 3 or 4 posts out per week. That got to be way too much so I’ve scaled it back to one or two. I’ve finally decided on a schedule of posting on Tuesdays and Fridays, but we’ll see how that goes. I didn’t realize how much promoting is involved and how much time it takes to find photos. there’s a lot more involved than just writing content. Thanks for sharing.

  6. Great post and very accurate. As a new blogger myself I have gotten so much support from other bloggers in the community. I’m still battling with taking breaks as I am a person who just constantly works. smh.

  7. I’m a new blogger – been at it about 4 months now. The biggest thing I’ve learned so far is that I just need to do me. I have a story to tell and information to share that is unique and I can’t try and be just like the big bloggers with hundreds of thousands of followers. I can gain insights and inspirations from them, but can’t compare myself. I just have to do my own thing.

  8. Who knew?! You sure don’t write like a new blogger. I love your site and your style and I plan to subscribe because I like to see other people succeed. Were all in this together, right? There is a lot to be learned in blogging for sure, but find one thing that you are good at and be amazing at it. As long as your having fun and it’s worth your while (monetarily or inspirationally), that is all that matters. Would love to have you in my FB group called New Blogger Nation, were small but it helps for retention which ultimately means lots for the authority of your site on the web. Great article and keep up the great work!

    1. Thank you! That means a lot! And yeah, having fun is the best part. I will look up your group and thanks for the support!!
