Didn’t think I would be stuck in a crib that day…
Woke up in the morning feeling pretty good. My allergies usually drive me a little crazy when I first wake up but this time my nose was nice and clear. My 2-year-old daughter was already up calling me so I went to check on her and took her out of her crib. Sooner or later we will be upgrading her crib to a toddler bed. I took her to our room and laid her by me in the bed.
She ends up falling back to sleep. I think it was around 7:30 at the time so I got on my phone scrolling through Instagram. I was being a little lazy today because usually, I’m up working on my blog. After some time passed my little munchkin eventually got back up and that pretty much started our day as my hubby went to work.
The day was going great and my daughter was in such a good mood. We played a lot and even did some exercising together. It was fun. Eventually, our day was coming to an end and my silly 2-year-old had so much energy.
I tried doing some cleaning hoping she would just get tired after I got done. She was just running around and playing with the colorful squares that I cut out for her from construction paper. She sure did make a mess. After I got done cleaning up I let her know that it was bedtime and of course she did not like that idea. That’s when I knew it was going to be a little bit of a struggle getting her to bed.
After taking a shower and brushing her teeth, my hubby and I took her to her room and read her a story, said a prayer and put her in her crib. I told her that it was bedtime and shut off the lights. She was not happy. I turned on her little night-light that shines stars on the ceiling and sat on the floor by her crib. We just got rid of the pacifier so I would stay with her some nights until she falls asleep.

I stuck my arm through the bars of the crib, right past my elbow to rub her head as she tried to go to sleep.
Here is where I made my mistake….
I didn’t think much of it because I slide my arm through so easily. So I continue to rub her head and it takes her a good while for her to actually fall asleep. I do find it super cute when she is on the verge of going to sleep because her face looks so precious and innocent.
Anyways, after she officially was asleep, I slowly try to take my arm out of the bars of the crib but get stuck at the bone of my elbow. I start to panic a bit but quickly calm down thinking “I got myself in this, I know I can get out”.
Yep, I was stuck in a crib. I was already self-conscious about how huge my arms were and this just made it worse! I tried really hard to pull my arm out. Turned, twisted, and even tried to see if I could bend the bars a little bit but I couldn’t. My arm was hurting and I was really panicking this time.
While I struggled to get my arm out, my husband was playing video games online with headphones on. I figured if I yell loud enough maybe he could hear me and help.
But as much as I wanted to shout at him, I was afraid to wake up little bit. It took such a long time to put her to sleep. So I faintly say his name and ask for help. It wasn’t working.
I tried so hard not to be too loud. I was about to just give up and sleep with my arm stuck. Haha. But I realized how uncomfortable that was and yelled his name out loud almost waking our daughter up.
He finally hears me wondering where I am not realizing that I was still in our little one’s room. Eventually, he comes into her room seeing me on the ground wondering what was wrong. He laughs when he sees my arm stuck in the crib. I told him to help me and not to be so loud. It hurt when he took my arm out but I was finally free! Yay!
After that whole ordeal, I went straight to bed. I was going to play my game a little bit but I was so done for the night. But looking back on it now, it was quite hilarious. Hehe
Sometimes I think about what lengths us mamas have to do to comfort our children. Sometimes it can be quite comical. I just wanted to share this because I thought it was funny and I’m sure somewhere there is a mama who can relate to this in some way or another.
Have you ever had any silly moments happen to you that had to do with your children? Let me know in the comments. I would love to hear your stories.
